Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for the Environment says it BBC radio interview that it could prove
uneconomical  to defend some stretches of the coast of East England but recognises that no-one
can accurately predict future levels of sea level rise.  For more information click here

This contains details of the Committee's survey of the river banks following the surge on 9 November and a
number of photographs including one showing the high tide overtopping the river banks defending
