NEWS

25 NOVEMBER 2007

We are expecting very high tides during the next few days. North Westerly winds have meant that this has resulted in higher tides
than those we would expect on the basis of normal astronomical predictions.  This can be seen from the Proudman  Oceanographic Web sitewhich you can access via this hyperlink
NTSLF data. The high tide came over Orford Quay seriously inconveniencing those hoping to enjoy their Sunday lunch including some prominent Alde and Ore Association members!

CHARTS FROM THE PROUDMAN NTSLF FACILITY

However, although we will continue to experience very high tides on tomorrow and Tuesday and probably higher than predicted tides present expectations are that these will not be as high as those we experienced on 9 November.  High Tides at Orford Quay are shown below. Predicted tides for Orford Quay can be found by following this link UKHO EasyTide – Orford Quay.
