ABOUT US

This web site has been constructed by David Andren who divides his time between his homes in London and Orford.  David has been coming down to this part of the world since the late 1940's when relations purchased a house at the south end of Aldeburgh.  From 1958 onwards David's family owned a house - described by one neighbour as the most hideous house in Aldeburgh - in what is now Wentworth Road.  This has  now been sold. In late 2002 David bought a retirement home close to the Orford Quay.

David's father was half Swedish but brought up in England. His mother (nee Blix) was born and brought up in Sweden. David was born and brought up in England where he went to school in North-West London.  Thereafter he attended Stockholm University, the University of St Andrews, Cornell University and the London Business School.  After graduating from Cornell University he joined H M Treasury where he spent all his working life, apart from a brief spell at the University of Glasgow where he was the Civil Service Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow for some 18 months in the early 1980's.
